Scottish Ladies and Walker Sprint on 27-Feb-2011

On behalf of Sk8scotland the Ayrshire Flyers Speed Skating Club would like to invite all eligible Scottish Skaters (NISA members, living in Scotland and NISA members who are Scottish by birth) to the Scottish Ladies and Walker Sprint competition on the above date at the Magnum Leisure Centre in Irvine.

The competition will be held over 3 rounds and format will depend on entries received. There will be demonstration races for novice skaters.

Report Time: 12:15
Competition Start Time: 13:00

Entry fee of £7.00 per skater (payable at registration by team leader)

Entries to include the name of skater, helmet number, NISA number and category.
Entries to be with the Competition Steward, Stuart Miller, no later than 21st February 2011.

The event will be held under NISA rules and regulations.
Would anyone willing to help out at this competition please let me know.

NOTE:  No videoing or photography will be allowed during competitions or at the rink side.

Scottish 500m Championships 2011 Results

The first of the Scottish Championships, the Scottish 500m, was held at the Magnum on Sunday January 31st.

Scottish 500m Final

In an exciting, hard fought final Scott Anderson (Dundee) took his first Scottish title, over taking Craig Miller on the last lap to deny Craig his 15th championship title. Third place went to Kathryn Thomson, a great result as she continues her recovery from injury. The fourth finalist was Greg Ireland (Dundee) in his first senior final.

There were a number of other very good performances not least from two of our newer skaters Conner Hull and Callum Mort, both displaying a lot of promise.

The novice competition was won by Jordan McLaughlin (Forth Valley) with second and third going to Flyers Crawford Gilles and Aiden Walker-Stewart. Flyers newest skaters Lorna, Deborah and Steven all skated with spirit and demonstrated potential for the future too.

Thanks to all the officials for a good event and the Magnum staff for their support.

Competition Results Update

Odense Star Class – January 2011
