Kathryn will be competing in her first senior international championship this weekend, representing Great Britain in the relay at the European Championships in Malmo, Sweden. We wish Kat and the rest of the team good luck and success.
Kat has a busy and exciting racing schedule ahead. She will be competing as a senior in her first World Cup in Dresden, Germany and follow that racing as a junior at the Youth Olympics in Brasov, Romania and Europa Junior Final in Baselga di Pine, Italy.
Cheers,Though this was the lowest Flyers entry since the club started, the weekend’s British Championship proved to be a successful one for Flyers. Kathryn Thomson took the Junior ladies title with consummate ease winning all three distances. Conner Hull placed 8th in the Junior Men and set two personal bests in the 500m & 1500m. Rebecca Hull finished 4th in Pee Wee Girls and also achieved a personal best in the 500m.
Ex-Flyers skaters also did well with Elise Christie (now Forth Valley) winning the Senior Ladies and Shannon Scott (Nottingham) placing third in Junior ladies.
Regards,A big “thank you” to all club members and parents who helped out at our very successful bag-packing session at The Tesco Store in Whitletts Road, Ayr on Saturday 15th December.
The club is very grateful to Tesco for once again giving us this opportunity to fund raise and also to Alistair who arranged it for us.
Regards,
