This year’s Championships were held at Nottingham on May 25 & 26 and it was a good one for Flyers with one title, two other podium finishes and 12 personal bests. Full details are in the Results page. Congratulations to all our skaters!
Update 11-Aug-14: the results have been incorporated into the latest Personal Best table.
Kathryn Thomson took the Junior Ladies title with consummate ease and was a joy to watch. Though the rest of our skaters no longer get to train with Kat, it is to be hoped that they watched her closely at the British and will work to copy her technique and do their best to emulate her performance. Deborah Johnston and Joshua Davidson took Bronze medals in the Pee Wee Girls and Boys in their first Championship. The Flyers 3 medals represent 10% of the 30 individual medals up for grabs at the Championship which is a good return for the club at this stage in the development process.
Other Flyers placings:
Junior Men | Roy Walker 6th, Conner Hull 8th |
---|---|
Juvenile Girls | Rebecca Hull 7th |
Juvenile Boys | Michael Mackay 4th |
Pee Wee 2 | Lorna Johnston 14th |
It was good to see eight entries from the club, a big improvement on recent seasons, and one of our goals must be to increase that number next season.
